The Greater Cincinnati Water Works (GCWW) will be continuing their water main project soon, and it will begin in Blue Ash in the vicinity of Kenwood and Cooper Roads.
This project represents the continuation of a major waterline improvement for GCWW which in Blue Ash included work along Blue Ash Road and the portion of Cooper Road between Blue Ash and Kenwood Roads. This current project will pick up where that project left off and involves the installation of a major 36" transmission waterline. The overall GCWW project will begin in Blue Ash just west of Kenwood Road and will continue east and north through Montgomery, eventually ending in the area of the Pfeiffer/Montgomery Road intersection. The first phase of the current year project will begin in Blue Ash just west of Kewnood and continue east on Cooper to approximately the library/post office area on Cooper Road. The remaining portions of this project in Blue Ash (continuing east on Cooper Road) will be completed in a later project phase to begin this summer.
A public meeting targeted for area Blue Ash businesses (though anyone is welcome) has been set for Wednesday, February 3, at 6:30PM in the Council Chambers of the Municipal & Safety Center (4343 Cooper Road, 45242). Area businesses are being notified of this meeting in coming days, and at the meeting, there will be a brief formal presentation at the beginning, followed by a question and answer session. Representatives from Cincinnati Water Works, from the general contractor working for the Water Works, and from the City of Blue Ash will be in attendance at the meeting to address questions. Future public meetings will likely be held closer to when the next Blue Ash phases (east of the library/post office) are scheduled to begin -- likely this summer.
Much, if not all, of the work associated with this phase of the project in downtown Blue Ash will be completed during evening hours and/or over the weekends. No complete road closures in Blue Ash are expected with this project; however, the Kenwood/Cooper intersection will need to be closed over one weekend. As is the case with most major infrastructure and road improvement projects, those traveling in the area will experience inconvenience.
Questions regarding the road project should be directed to the Service Department via E-mail to rnoland@blueash.com or via phone to 745-8538.
