CURBSIDE BRUSH COLLECTION - CITY CREWS PLEASE NOTE NEW COLLECTION PROCEDURE: Large amounts of Brush will be collected by City crews on a call-in basis only by calling the Service Department Center at (513) 686-1250 to schedule a pick up. Requests for removal will be scheduled for the following week. Please have your brush to the curb prior to 6:30 AM Monday morning. The photos on the right show the proper placement of brush piles at the curb or berm of the roadway for collection by City crews. The cut ends should be facing the street. Small amounts of brush should be placed in the provided Rumpke waste wheeler. Please see below for requirements for collection by Rumpke on your scheduled collection day.
City of Blue Ash Curbside Brush Collection Rules:
Brush consists of limbs and twigs. Brush will not be collected if mixed with other materials (such as yard waste (leaves, grass, flowers, mulch, bush trimmings), wood fencing, nails, plastic, metal, lumber, etc). The machine used for this service is not designed to accept these materials. Possible damage to the machine could occur or bodily harm to City workers. Brush must be placed near the edge of the street or curb (within the City's right of way). Do not place brush in the street or on the sidewalk. Do not place brush near a parked car or fire hydrant. Brush must not be larger than 12" in diameter. Stumps and root systems must be detached. Please have several small piles rather than one large pile. This will greatly help with efficiency.
CURBSIDE BRUSH COLLECTION - RUMPKE RUMPKE COLLECTS BRUSH YEAR ROUND on your regularly scheduled waste collection day. Brush must be cut in 6 foot lengths and tied in bundles or placed in your Rumpke waste wheeler or personal garbage can. Rumpke will not collect loose piles of brush so please place small amounts of brush in the provided waste wheeler. Wood chips are available to residents by calling (513) 686-1250. A "Property Access & Release" form is required for delivery of wood chips. Click here to view & print Property Access & Release form
CURBSIDE LEAF COLLECTION - CITY CREWS Between mid-October and mid-December, City crews collect leaves along City streets (no bagging required during this time). For 2011, collection began on October 10 and ends on December 16. Leaves should be brought to the curb or to the berm of the road if no curb exists. Please make sure leaves are not placed in the ditch line as this will clog the storm sewer system and possibly cause flooding onto the roadway or your property. Please DO NOT MIX any other yard waste items in with the leaves (such as grass, flowers, mulch, brush, bush trimmings). Leaves must be raked to the curb prior to 6:30 AM on Monday of each week to be collected that week. Our goal is to service each street weekly, but during heavy volume periods, in the event of a snow/ice emergency, or due to equipment breakdown, it may take longer to complete a citywide sweep. Leaves put out after City crews have already serviced a street will be collected the following week. Residents may call our Service Department Center at (513) 686-1250 to find out when their street was last serviced. There is one-time spring leaf collection day by City crews. For 2012, this date is Monday, April 9. Leaves must be raked to the curb prior to 6:30 AM on April 11th for collection by the City. Leaves put out after City crews have already serviced a street will not be collected and will need to be bagged or containerized for collection by Rumpke. CURBSIDE LEAF COLLECTION - RUMPKE RUMPKE COLLECTS LEAVES YEAR ROUND on your regularly scheduled waste collection day. Rumpke requires leaves be bagged or placed in your Rumpke waste wheeler or personal garbage can. Rumpke will not collect loose piles of leaves.
IMPORTANT NOTE: City crews are unable to pickup piles of leaves or brush when parked vehicles are on top of the piles or blocking the piles. Crews are unable to return to pickup these piles when the vehicle has been moved. During the fall collection season, these piles will be picked up the following week.
